Mining Overview¶
Soqucoin uses Scrypt Proof-of-Work — the same algorithm as Dogecoin and Litecoin. If you already mine DOGE or LTC, your hardware works with SOQ out of the box.
Why Mine Soqucoin?¶
Early Emission Window¶
Block rewards start extremely high and halve over time:

Early Miners Win Big
The first ~11 months produce the vast majority of SOQ supply. Mining during this window — even with older hardware — yields significantly more coins per hash than mining later when difficulty increases and rewards halve.

Mining Methods¶
Join a mining pool to receive steady, predictable payouts. Pool mining combines your hashrate with other miners and splits rewards proportionally.
Advantages:
- Consistent income (daily payouts)
- No minimum hashrate requirement
- Pool handles block submission
Mine blocks independently. You keep the entire block reward (500,000 SOQ early on!) but only earn when you find a block.
When to solo mine:
- You control ≥1% of network hashrate
- You're okay with irregular, lumpy payouts
- During early emission when difficulty is low
