Create your wallet

From first open to a working wallet in about a minute.

SoquShield is self-custodial. That means the keys to your money are created on your phone and stay on your phone. Nobody else holds them, including us.

1. On the welcome screen, tap CREATE A WALLET.
2. Give the wallet a name. Anything works, “Personal” is fine. Only you see it.
3. Leave “Unlock with Face ID / Touch ID” on if your phone supports it. It protects the app without slowing you down.
4. Tap ACTIVATE. The app generates your post-quantum keys on the device. This takes a few seconds.
5. You will land on the Recovery Phrase screen next. Do not skip it. See Your recovery phrase in this manual.

Your recovery phrase

The 24 words that ARE your wallet. Treat them like cash.

When you create a wallet, the app shows you 24 words and asks you to write them down in order. Those words are the master copy of your keys. If your phone is lost, broken, or wiped, the 24 words are the only way to get your money back. No company can restore them for you.

Do

• Write the words on paper, in order, and check your spelling.
• Store the paper somewhere you would store cash or a passport.
• Consider a second copy in a different place, like a safe deposit box.

Never

• Never type the words into a website, email, or chat message.
• Never share them with anyone. Support will never ask for them. Anyone who does ask is trying to rob you.
• Never store them as a screenshot or photo. Phones sync photos to the cloud.

View them again

Settings, then “Recovery phrase” under BACKUP & KEYS. The app asks you to unlock with Face ID or your passcode first, and reminds you to make sure no one is watching.

Restore a wallet

Moving to a new phone, or recovering after a loss.

1. On the welcome screen, tap I ALREADY HAVE A WALLET.
2. Enter your 24 recovery words in order.
3. The app rebuilds your keys on this device and syncs your balance and history from the network.

Your balance is not stored inside the old phone. It lives on the Soqucoin network, and the 24 words prove it is yours. That is why restoring works from any device.

About this beta

What “stagenet” means and why balances here are test money.

This build of SoquShield runs on stagenet, the public test network for Soqucoin. It behaves like the real network so you can learn the app, but the coins on it are test coins with no monetary value.

What that means for you

• Feel free to experiment. Sending here cannot lose real money.
• Need coins to play with? Settings has a Faucet entry that gives out free stagenet SOQ.
• When mainnet launches, the app will offer the real network. Stagenet balances do not carry over, by design.

Reading the Wallet screen

What every number and label on the home screen is telling you.

The Wallet tab is your main balance view. The figure at the top is your custody line: YOUR KEY on this device, connected to the SOQ L1 network, with the live block number on the right. When the status line reads LIVE, you are connected.

The pieces

• HOLDINGS · SOQ is your total. Tap it to mask the number when someone is looking over your shoulder.
• A +n SETTLING line means coins are on their way to you and waiting for network confirmation.
• SEND and RECEIVE are the two big actions. PRIVATE sits below them.
• The ASSETS list shows each thing you hold: SOQ and USDSOQ. Tap a row for detail.
• Your address is at the bottom. Tap it to copy.

Receive SOQ

Share your address or a ready-made payment request.

1. From the Wallet tab, tap RECEIVE.
2. Show the QR code to the sender, or tap your address to copy it and send it any way you like.
3. Optionally fill in AMOUNT and MEMO, then tap SHARE PAYMENT REQUEST. That copies a request with the amount already attached, so the sender cannot mistype it.

Incoming coins appear in your history right away and count as settled after network confirmation, usually within a couple of minutes.

Send SOQ or USDSOQ

Addresses, .soq names, fees, and what the signing screen means.

1. From the Wallet tab, tap SEND.
2. Pick the asset at the top: SOQ or USDSOQ.
3. Enter the amount.
4. Enter the recipient. Paste their address, or just type their name, like “rick.soq”. The app looks the name up and shows you the address it resolves to. Check it.
5. Review the FEE line. The fee pays the network, not us.
6. Tap SEND SOQ (or SEND USDSOQ) and confirm with Face ID or your passcode.

The signing screen

You will briefly see QUANTUM-SIGNING with a “DO NOT CLOSE THE APP” warning. Your phone is building the post-quantum signature. It takes a moment. Then the SENT screen shows the amount and a receipt hash you can tap to copy.

Before you send, know this

Transactions cannot be reversed. If you send to a wrong address, nobody can pull it back, so check the first and last characters of the address before confirming.

Your history

Reading the Activity list, including compliance rows.

Open History from the More menu. Everything the wallet has done is listed newest first, grouped under TODAY, YESTERDAY, and dates.

Row types

• Sent and Received are your SOQ transfers. Tap a row to copy its receipt hash.
• Faucet rows are free test coins from the stagenet faucet.
• Issued and Redeemed rows track USDSOQ minted to or burned from your wallet by an issuer authority key.
• Compliance hold rows appear if any USDSOQ you hold was frozen or released by the issuer. Tap one to see the on-chain proof.

Use Pay

Instant payments that settle in under a second.

The Pay tab is for small, instant payments. Instead of waiting for network confirmation, you and a Lightning service provider hold an open tab together, called a channel. Payments inside it settle in under a second and cost no fees.

First time: connect

1. Open the Pay tab. If you have no channel yet, tap CONNECT TO NETWORK.
2. The app opens a 0.50 SOQ channel with the service provider. The meter at the top fills in: your spendable side on the left, the provider's side on the right.

Pay someone

1. Tap PAY.
2. Enter an amount, or paste an invoice the other person sent you.
3. Tap SIGN & PAY. Done. The telemetry line below shows the payment settling, usually in milliseconds.

Get paid

1. Tap RECEIVE, enter the amount, and tap REQUEST PAYMENT.
2. Show the QR code, or copy the invoice text and send it to the payer. A request is only useful if someone actually intends to pay you, so share it with that person.
3. The screen reads AWAITING PAYMENT until it lands. Requests expire after an hour; just make a new one.

Nobody to pay you yet?

That is normal on a new network. Tap TEST PAYMENT · FAUCET under your request and the beta faucet pays it for you, usually in under a second. You see exactly what a real incoming payment looks like, and the money lands in your spendable balance. Small amounts only, and the faucet limits how often each person can use it.

USDSOQ

Stablecoin issuance technology, and what a compliance hold is.

USDSOQ is stablecoin issuance technology built into the Soqucoin protocol for licensed issuers. Soqucoin Labs is not an issuer and holds no reserves. USDSOQ is not active on mainnet. On this stagenet beta USDSOQ is a test token with no value. Open USDSOQ from the Wallet tab ASSETS list to see your balance and the on-chain issuer ledger.

Compliance holds, in plain words

USDSOQ carries an issuer compliance hold at the protocol level: the issuer's authority key can freeze specific coins, for example if a court orders it. A frozen coin cannot move. Not by you, not by the app, not even by the issuer's own payment system, because the Soqucoin network itself enforces the freeze. If this ever touches coins you hold, the app shows ASSET UNDER COMPLIANCE HOLD with the on-chain proof, and your History shows when the hold was placed and lifted.

pSOQ

A token on Solana.

pSOQ is a token on Solana. The path from pSOQ to SOQ is in legal review and details will be published when it is complete.

The app holds your Solana and SOQ keys on this device. Nobody else holds them, including us.

Get a .soq name

Replace your long address with a name people can type.

A .soq name points at your wallet address, so people can send to “you.soq” instead of a 40-character string. Names are owned by your wallet and recorded on-chain.

1. Open Names (SNS) from the More menu, then tap REGISTER A NAME.
2. Type the name you want. Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens, 3 to 32 characters. The app checks availability as you type.
3. Review the REGISTRATION FEE. The fee is burned, meaning destroyed forever, which is what stops people from hoarding names for free.
4. Tap REGISTER and confirm with Face ID or your passcode.
5. The name goes ACTIVE after 1 network confirmation, usually within a minute or two.

Look a name up

The Names screen has a LOOKUP field. Type any .soq name to see the address it resolves to and who owns it, before you send anything to it.

Private transactions

What the Privacy screen does today, honestly.

Soqucoin is researching confidential transactions under a post-quantum privacy system called SoquObscura. The goal is to let you shield coins so their amounts are not public on-chain. It is still in development, is not active on any network, and no date is committed.

The honest status

Privacy is not switched on yet. It activates through an on-network miner vote, and the Privacy screen tracks that signalling. Until then the screen is a preview: the SHIELD and UNSHIELD controls are visible but disabled, and every send today is transparent. The app tells you this in place rather than pretending otherwise.

The habits that keep a self-custody wallet safe.

The one rule that matters most

Your 24-word recovery phrase is the wallet. Anyone who has the words has your money, from anywhere in the world, with no way to undo it. Support will never ask for them. No giveaway, airdrop, “validation”, or “sync” ever needs them. Every message that asks is a scam, without exception.

Good habits

• Keep “Biometric lock” and “Lock on background” on in Settings.
• Verify addresses before sending. Check the first and last characters, or use a .soq name you have looked up.
• Send a small test amount first when paying someone new.
• Update the app when updates ship. Security fixes ride along.
• If a deal or message pressures you to act fast, that pressure is the red flag. Real ones can wait.

Why screenshots look black

If you try to screenshot or screen-record the app, the capture comes out black. That is deliberate. It stops malware and screen-sharing scams from photographing your balance or your recovery phrase.

Wiping this device

Settings, DANGER ZONE, “Wipe wallet” deletes everything from this phone. Only do it if your 24 words are written down, because after a wipe they are the only way back in.

SOQ

The coin of the Soqucoin network. What the Wallet tab counts.

Shors

The smallest slice of a SOQ, like cents to a dollar. One SOQ is 100 million shors. Named after the quantum algorithm Soqucoin is built to resist.

Post-quantum / ML-DSA-44

Future quantum computers could break the signatures that protect most cryptocurrencies today. Soqucoin signs with ML-DSA-44, a newer scheme standardized by the US government (FIPS 204) that quantum computers cannot break. That is the “QUANTUM-SIGNED” badge you see around the app.

Self-custody

You hold your own keys, on your own device. The opposite of an exchange account, where a company holds the keys and you hold a promise.

Confirmation

The network sealing your transaction into its permanent record. Each confirmation makes it more final. A couple of minutes covers everyday payments.

Fee

A small amount paid to the network with each on-chain transaction. It pays the machines that secure the network. The app shows it before you confirm.

Channel

The open tab behind the Pay screen. Two parties lock a small balance together and pass instant payments inside it, settling to the main network later.

USDSOQ

Stablecoin issuance technology in the Soqucoin protocol for licensed issuers. Soqucoin Labs is not an issuer and holds no reserves. On this beta, a test token with no value.

pSOQ

UTXO / Coin control

Your balance is really a pouch of separate coins of different sizes. Coin control, in Settings under PRIVACY, lets advanced users choose which coins a payment spends. You never need it for normal use.
