Hardware Guide¶
Soqucoin uses Scrypt proof-of-work, the same algorithm as Litecoin and Dogecoin. Any Scrypt-capable hardware works.

Best Value for Early Mining
During the 100,000 SOQ/block launch reward phase, even an L3+ is viable. The L7 and L9 offer the best performance-per-dollar for serious miners.
Validated Hardware¶
The following miners have been tested on the Soqucoin network with zero rejected shares:
- Antminer L9 (17 GH/s): 40,000+ blocks mined, zero crashes
- Antminer L7 (9.5 GH/s): 640+ blocks continuous, zero rejected shares
- Antminer L3+ (504 MH/s): Confirmed working via stratum
GPU Mining¶
GPU mining is technically possible using Scrypt-capable software (cgminer, sgminer) but is not competitive against ASICs. A high-end GPU produces roughly 5-50 MH/s compared to 9,000-18,000 MH/s from a modern ASIC.
Only consider GPU mining during the very early emission window when network difficulty is low.
Node Requirements¶
Your mining hardware connects to a Soqucoin node (either your own or a pool's). Node hardware requirements:

A Raspberry Pi 4/5 makes a great dedicated node for solo mining.
Power and Cooling¶
Scrypt ASICs generate significant heat. Plan for:
- Dedicated 20A circuit for L7/L9 class miners (3,400W)
- Adequate ventilation or a garage/basement setup
- Operating temperature below 40°C ambient
- Noise: L7/L9 produce 75+ dB. Not suitable for living spaces.
